A Moment in Paris
My work have been exhibited in Paris, Madrid, Milan, Barcelona, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, the Hamptons, Fuerteventura, Innsbruck, and Verone.
Locally, my work was in John Lewis, Exeter Phoenix Centre and High Street Gallery during AWE.
I have been represented by the Van Gogh Gallery in Madrid, Artifact, New York and Tricera in Japan.
Represented by international Galleries, my paintings have travelled around the Globe.
Something about me
Originally from Malaga, (Andalucia, Spain),
flamenco, dance and passion flow in my veins.
I have painted for over 3 decades, but initially, I kept my paintings for my own private viewing until 2016. That year, I joined an art studio in Exeter, UK. There I learnt how to play with different mediums. In 2020, I took part in the Art2Life community through the Creative Visionary programme. Then I became a member of the Art2Life Academy (2021-2024).
My painting process is alive, spontaneous, full of curiosity, play and adventure, this mirrors my process of living. The colours of my creations are bright and fully saturated, representing the vibrancy of Life itself. And using thick layers of paint, I create a story over the canvas for the eyes and fingertips to feast on. My artistic voice is loud and unapologetic.
I started my adventure as a photographer in 1998. I remember using the dark room and how the images appeared as magic while immersed in liquid. There was a sense of Alchemy, I can still feel the awe of those moments “in the dark”. In 2013 feeling re-inspired again, I started capturing moments of magic in nature. And I started playing with a series Puddles and Shadows. For the last decade, I have captured the essence of moments that touch my heart and the juice of beauty
I started my journey as a poet 38 years ago, I found solace in the intimacy of words. In that era, my mother said that many of my poems were painful for her to read. Different seasons have passed, and some showed exuberant love for the dance of the sun and the moon and the presence of the sea, in time, the poetry became my teacher, telling me what I needed to know.
